THTR 1023 Theatre Production Lab II: Props/Paint Prep (Fall/Spring: 1 )

Course Description

The Props/Paint Theatre Production Prep Lab will introduce students to the skills necessary to research, collect, build and organize theatrical properties; decorate theatrical sets; repair and maintain props and stage furniture; layout and paint scenery; be introduced to the variety of tools and techniques used in scene painting. Through hands on practice, students will be allowed to develop their abilities in the areas of theatre production related to scene painting and properties. Students will work on departmental productions during the semester. The work will vary by student and will be determined by that individual abilities and interest in addition to the demands of the specific productions that the department is presenting. Students will complete 26 hours of lab work over the course of the semester.
