SPAN 9965 Modern and Postmodern Spanish Short Story (Spring: 3 )

Course Description

The course acquaints students with the development of the genre since the end of the 19th century. Members of the class acquire a detailed knowledge of a selected number of representative works covering the main themes and techniques of the genre, and an ability to comment on its development and its major trends. We will also apply a range of critical theories to the texts and situate them in relation to prior, or subsequent counterparts.
