SPAN 6689 Modern and Postmodern Spanish Novel (Spring: 3 )

Course Description

The course acquaints students with the development of the genre from the 19th-century to the end of the 20th-century. Members of the class acquire a detailed knowledge of the form and content of a selected number of representative novels, and an ability to comment on its development and its major trends. The course will also apply a range of critical theories to the texts and situate them in relation to prior, or subsequent counterparts.
