PSYC 4478 Research Practicum in Human Memory (Fall/Spring: 3 )

Course Description

This course introduces the research methods used in the study of human memory. Over the course of the semester, students will complete a research proposal paper, which entails identifying a novel research question, designing an experiment, statistical analyses, interpreting results, and writing up the experiment in publication format. Students will also gain experience reading, analyzing, and critiquing human memory research, which will cover such topics as implicit memory, explicit memory, semantic memory, and working memory. At the end of course, students will be familiar with the methods and statistical analyses used in human memory research and be able to critically evaluate the research. The course will consist of lectures and group discussions of the relevant literature.
