MKTG 6640 Analytics and Business Intelligence (Fall/Spring: 3 )
Modern systems generate massive volumes of data; organizations everywhere struggle to aggregate, analyze, and monetize this growing deluge. Business Analytics combines statistical and quantitative analysis with explanatory and predictive modeling. Managers now must explore patterns, predict future trends, and develop data-driven decisions. This course provides students with a pragmatic familiarity with the capabilities and limitations of emerging analytics techniques, an introduction to the R statistical computing language, an overview of methods and tools, and a core understanding required to be an intelligent manager, designer, and consumer of analytics models. Section numbers 1 and 2 of this course (when offered) will be delivered on-campus and section numbers 11 and 12 (when offered) will be delivered online.
