TMHC 8045 Seminar: Ethics&Empire:Eusebius to Augustine (Spring: 3 )


Course Description

The seminar will examine the evolving relationship of church and empire in the fourth century as a context for the articulation of Christian social and political ethics by bishops, theologians, exegetes, and preachers of the period. Extensive primary source readings, seminar papers, and discussion.

Prerequisites: A Seminar course in early church history and a course in moral theology; primarily for advanced degree students.
